Amalienstraße
Maxvorstadt in Munich is witnessing a minor sensation in architectural history. A renovation project in a class of its own, it impresses not only with its aesthetic design, but above all with its prominent creator. It is a deliberate counterpoint to the opulent Wilhelminian architecture of the surrounding area and focuses on a deliberately minimalist façade design. Subtly curved balconies and precise symmetry lend the building a timeless elegance. Added to this is an unusual barrel roof, which not only provides more living space on the upper floor, but also makes a clear statement for more creativity in urban design – a welcome change in the often conservative cityscape.
But the real highlight and true sensation of this project is the name behind it: none other than star architect Stephan Braunfels is making an impressive comeback in Munich with this design. Braunfels, the controversial creator of the iconic Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich and the imposing Paul Löbe House in Berlin, was one of the most important urban planners in the Federal Republic at the turn of the century. His new design in Maxvorstadt reflects his unmistakable signature style and once again demonstrates his ability to create buildings that are not only functional but also have a deeper level of meaning and a personality of their own.
This project draws inspiration from many subtle details of the famous Wittgenstein House in Vienna, lending the building additional intellectual depth and delighting architecture connoisseurs. We were privileged to accompany this extraordinary project from the outset and created a whole series of high-quality architectural visualizations. These included detailed exterior views showing the unique façade design and harmonious integration into the cityscape, as well as atmospheric interior visualizations. The latter provide a first glimpse into the exclusive luxury apartments in Munich and showcase the living experience promised by the high standards of design and materiality. The visualizations perfectly capture the minimalist aesthetics, the well-thought-out room concepts, and the exquisite choice of materials, and play a key role in communicating the uniqueness and value of this one-of-a-kind property.

Round shapes everywhere: both the curved balconies and the barrel roof break with the rectangularity of townhouse architecture. There are practical reasons for this too – first and foremost: more space.
